Leicestershire-based patisserie producer, all about desserts, has a simple mission statement: to provide the best product at the right price, on time. Run by husband-and-wife, Craig and Clare Barton, the business specialises in patisserie; desserts, tarts, bakes, cakes and afternoon tea pastries. Earlier this year, the operation moved into a premises with the intention of increasing manufacturing capability. The facility has been kitted out with a cold room, allowing Craig to branch out further into chilled and frozen desserts to attract new clients and opportunities.

Established in 2008, Make Ur Move launched as an online letting agent, managing thousands of residential properties for landlords all over the UK. The award-winning business has been inundated with fantastic reviews from landlords, and tenants alike, working with all parties to ensure a seamless process. The efficient team of ten were previously operating from a serviced office space in central Manchester, and have recently relocated to a permanent leased premises in a similarly central location.
Fengate Gym was acquired by new Director, Steve Hoffman, earlier this year. Having been a member of the gym himself since 1990, Steve earmarked the business as one with huge potential, and since taking over, has implemented a series of incremental upgrades to boost membership and modernise the facility.
Established in the industry for over 13 years, Director, Jane Saunders, also owns a second site in Stevenage; The Sun Factory. As a long-standing customer of Johnson Reed, Jane has acquired a number of sunbeds for both sites through leasing agreements. On hearing about our unsecured loan facilities, Jane turned to Paula to arrange finance for various salon refurbishments. The required amount and fixed term was agreed, and the funds were arranged promptly.
Downey’s was established in 2011, when the family opened their first shop in Seaham. The family-run business has expanded as a result of its success and now occupies more sites along the coastal seafront, with a second shop in Seaham and one in Roker, Sunderland. The original Seaham site recently underwent a significant expansion, and Director, Glen Downey, approached Johnson Reed for assistance with fit-out and frying range costs.
The Studio Method refers to the process through which clients, ‘learn to train properly and love to train regularly’. Taking inspiration from some of London’s most prestigious ‘boutique’ gyms, The Studio is a private members training facility offering outstanding customer service and valuable personal input to training. Owen approached Johnson Reed to explore leasing options for The Studio’s fitness equipment and various elements of the fit out, including weights, apparatus, furniture, changing room lockers, signage and neon lighting.
